At least get celebrities that are actual hockey fans....there's plenty of them out there. How hard is it to find people that can actually pronounce the players names right?

That's fuggin' sick. Saw a pic of thorton drinking from that 100k bottle of champagne while Chara drank from the Cup and some hotties were in the background
Wonder who picked up that tab? Not that they can't afford it... but does anyone actually have a card you can put a tab that big on
What freaking brand of champagne costs $100k for a bottle?
I think the only award I have an issue with really this year is the Norris. Please explain to me how a defenseman with a plus/minus rating of -2 wins the award for best defenseman?
I am fixed
"Somedays I wake up and feel like nobody loves me. Other days I wake up and feel like I love nobody. Sometimes I wake up and feel tired, and worn out. Sometimes I wake up and feel like I cannot face the day. But someday I'll wake up and realize that waking up is pretty stupid because it just makes you feel like crap."
He couldn't even carry Bobby Orr's skates.....and he's not as good as Ray Bourque was either.
And this year, he wasn't even in the top 50 of +/- for defensemen so he should never have been nominated.
that's because he was the on the ice for almost every situation. The wings penalty kill wasn't the best this year and that probably brought down his numbers a little. I think it's the first time in his career that he finished a season -. But to do what did at 41 and to have the impact he does I think you can say he's the most important defenseman to his team. In the end that's what I think the Norris is about, the best defenseman not necessarily the best numbers. Plus Orr + Bourque = 3 rings, Lidstrom = 4 rings just sayin

What do the number of rings have anything to do with it? Did Lidstrom win those rings all by himself?
Bobby Orr is in the conversation of the greatest players in hockey history, not of just defensemen. Orr is the only defenseman to lead the NHL in scoring and he did it twice while completely transforming the D position. He won 8 consecutive Norris trophies and along with that has this on his resume:
- Calder Trophy (1967)
- highest PPG by a defenseman and 4th highest in NHL history (Gretzky, Lemieux, and Bossy - notice they all played aftre he retired!)
- highest plus player in NHL history (one year hitting a +124)
- topped 100 points in a season six times in 12 years, once reaching 139, and he also scored 46 goals in a season
- most shorthanded points by a defenseman in NHL history
- first defenseman in NHL history to record a regular season hat trick
- first defenseman in NHL history ro record a playoff hat trick
- still holds records for most assists and points in a season by a defenseman
- only defenseman to win the Art Ross Trophy (and he did it not once, but twice)
When Lidstrom does that then we'll consider comparing him to Orr. And Bourque played into his 40's and was still at the top of his game, so that's a moot point. Again, the Norris is about the best defenseman in the league and someone with a negative +/- rating shouldn't even be nominated, it makes a mockery of the trophy and is a slap in the face to the prior winners.
Jeff Carter got traded to Columbus for Jakub Voracek, plus first and third round draft picks.
EDIT: Phi trades Mike Richards to LA for Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds and a 2nd round pick ...wow
EDIT part deux: Bryzgalov contract with PHI is done. 9 years, $51 million.

Oh come on now DGX! Voracek,1st round pick (8th overall) 2nd round pick,3rd round pick,Brayden Schenn(One of the best...if not the best prospect L.A had),Wayne Simmonds all that for just 2 players. You still have 7.57M$ in cap space.
The cap space is the best thing they got out of this deal. Voracek and Schenn are unproven and still developing, and Simmonds is gonna have to walk on water to prove himself worth it to the city of Philadelphia. 14 goals a year isn't gonna cut it.
And Bryzgalov better win.
Carter, I can understand... he's always injured in the playoffs, but Richards? This is twice in a row that Homer moved the heart and soul of the Flyers to somewhere else. He did it with Gagne last year.
Maybe he had a reason to trade him (He had issues with other players within the team...won't happen with Pronger...I'm assuming he will get the C ) The trades will probably be great for the Flyers IF they draft right.
