I thought what RBP did here was very cool.Some of us don't have a lot of extra cash around Christmas time and a donation to a good charity is a selfless act
I donate to a few but don't talk about it often, as I do it for a selfish need within myself...


I work for a company that makes millions, yet pays production and warehouse employees next to nothing.Being an ass, I expect to get a decent Xmas bonus for all of the work we do for our various clients.Our company has given us 20 dollar turkey vouchers, 50 dollar gift cards (to a food store) and this year, we got a 60 dollar gift card for Safeway.It's better than nothing and I am grateful, yet every year I give whatever bonus our company imparts upon us to a temp worker or The Mustard Seed, a local drop in center for homeless folk.

This year, in honor of RBP, I just got back from Safeway.I specifically looked for someone dressed worse than me (I wear an old coat and runners with holes etc and don't care) and walked up to her and gave her the gift card.At first she was a little suspicious, but then I got the biggest smile and thank you that I've had in a long time.I don't know if she was worse off than me...at least she didn't have to pay for half the items in her cart.
