This is about right We don't really have distinct accents around here...

What American accent do you have?
    Your Result: The Midland
"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.
    Result Breakdown:
    88% The Midland
    65% North Central
    58% The West
    55% The South
    48% The Inland North
    44% Philadelphia
    42% Boston
    23% The Northeast

The funny thing is here in Australia, we all sound the same, no real different accent no matter which part your from. And when I lived in England I was mistaken for a New Zealander, South Africian and American! So accents can be hard to peg down.
    Thanks Jezter!

Of course, its just a little island.. Some just pour on the 'Aussie slang' so much more than others.. Kind of a whole 'nother language.. I sure as hell don't understand half of it..

I worked 20 years in a profession filled with many many Kiwis, Aussies, Brits and even a few South Africans, maybe its more about what they say than how they say it but I can tell them all apart from a mile away,,

We are definitely less than the East coast of Canada...talking about Toronto, not the Maritimes. Let's see how I do, since I've been told I have an unusual voice in that I have the expressiveness of the North of England, as well as a little East coast (until 7 yrs old) then lived in every province west and lived in England very briefly...and I have done voice-over work.

    *Does Quiz*

It says I have a Boston/New Hampshire/Maine accent. Never been there!!!

People have mistaken my accent for Californian but never anything from the East!
