Since you're not specific in your meaning of ghosts, yes. As a matter of fact, I've seen quiet a few in my days.

If there can be one supernatural being, why can't there be another?

Ok. I guess we can use the wikipedia definition as the baseline.

Why does there need to be?

If I'm taking the high road in logic, I'd say that his line of thinking is well within the realm of possibility. Belief in ghosts doesn't necessarily logically imply the belief in religious doctrine. If you take a generic definition of a ghost, it's not necessarily rooted in any specific religion, though many religions have examples of ghosts within them. In fact, many examples of sightings have absolutely nothing to do with religious beliefs at all. You could theorize that the belief in paranormal entities such as ghosts probably helped to give rise to organized religion throughout history, but the idea of the spirit of the deceased appearing to the living existed independently before.

I just think if one is possible another can be possible as well. When you dive into the realm of the unknown everything is fair game.

In this case, change my answer to no then.

For instance, walk into any hospice that specifically deals with dementia or alzheimers patients, you'll see more ghosts then you can handle.

I believe there are people who believe they've seen them, and apparitions and demons and spirits or whatever. And I'm not critical of that. Dark old houses and imagination are a scary team

But do I believe in them? Absolutely not.

EDIT: I have to add though, that watching shows on exorcisms are creepy. There are some strange things in the record books there.

I believe that there are energies left over after death and sometimes those presences are strong enough that they can be qualified using equipment, or seen with the naked eye.In fact, I'm writing a story right now dealing with that very subject

It's about an ECG tech who discovers that when people die, they are perpetually stuck in the moment of their death....forever.They don't go to heaven or hell etc....they exist in a space without time, experiencing that one moment when their lives ended.Forever!

It's a happy story and I hope Disney picks up the rights

    Mystery

I have seen things that I can't explain - things that could be termed as a ghost...

I have a theory - bullshit it may be - but I think life is like a multi-track tape recorder, and sometimes as as any recording engineer will tell you on those old tapes, you'd sometimes hear a faint but audible copy on the next track over. Maybe God's tape player misaligns and we see stuff?????? of an echo of a past event, or a future one? Wouldn't God have digital by now?

    Exhibit A

We moved into an apartment and that week we were watching TV. I saw an old woman in a shawl go down our hallway. Blue, and the shawl was a darker blue. I turned to my dad and said "What the hell?" and he sat up, and we both walked to the hall. Nobody there...nobody in the adjacent rooms, nor out in the hall.

He started to say "Did you see..." and I stopped him. I asked him "quick, Dad, write down exactly what you saw, don't say it. I'll do the same." We both wrote Old lady, blue shawl walking (I wrote shuffling) down the hall." Ghost??? Dunno.

    Exhibit B

I was driving home at 3am and no cars are out on the road, I have the windows down - it's a hot summer night. Dark, but clear. Then suddenly I saw something - a shadow - dart out in front of my car. I hit the brakes and go into full 4 wheels locked, tires screaming to a stop. My dad says simultaneously "whoa!!" It's 3am and no one is around. I get out of the car after pulling over...2 open fields to the left and right...and a clear night. If anything had run across, even a fieldmouse, I would have seen it scurry away. Nothing. My Dad in the passenger side saw the same shadowy figure - a blonde woman. My Mom, sitting in the back seat, didn't see a thing.

I awoke one night to hear some high pitched voices and laughter...and then what sounded like some pool balls being smashed into pockets downstairs. The noise lasted 3-5 seconds maximum.

Went down for a look and all of the stuff we had on our old pool table was now off of it and all of the balls were cleared.

It was around 3am and my elder roommates were both fast asleep in bed upstairs.....

I'm with Noily, I've seen things that I can't explain, as much as I try to rationalise it, I just can't, and it’s something that’s had quite a profound effect on my life.
