I like this thread...it made me think back to what I liked back then...like I said I was not mainstream...here's some that came to me. I was in a band and heavily into the Beatles because I wanted to be a Musician and my taste reflected this a bit so I see.

I am a bit more flexible now.

Big surprise on this first one...Paul McCartney's My Brave Face. This was '89 so just in the 80's. My dad had just passed away, I was 24 and lost. Moved to England (Eastham) and this was constantly on the radio. Identified with the lyrics big time "...now that I'm alone again, can't stop breaking down again" etc. Found out later I went to England for that half year to find "my brave face"



On a lighter note, like I said I was very 60's retro in the 80's as many of us were. This sound really harkened back to that era... Phil Seymour's Precious to Me..



And again with this one...Marshall Crenshaw - Someday Some Way. He played Buddy Holly in La Bamba - for obvious reasons...



Here's a group that may have fallen under your radar...GTR with When the Heart Rules The Mind. Sounded like Starship...was a supergroup of some Genesis guys and some Yes guys...



And one more...a bit off the beaten track this one...Larsen/Feiten Band - Who'll be the fool tonight
