I watched the first two seasons (Blood and Sand) and grew to love this show.It's done in the stylized graphic novel fashion and contains lots of sex and violence.

After the first two seasons, the lead actor had to be treated for cancer unfortunately.So in the meantime they've created a prequel mini series containing 6 episodes called Gods of the Arena.

Give this one a chance...the first few episodes seem cheesy, by the middle of the first season I was hooked.

Gods of the Arena is great...they somehow make the lead actors (Lucy Lawless has a great part) look younger and the story actually makes sense for the time frame before the first two seasons took place.I would recommend watching the original two seasons first, if you're interested.

It's stylized blood and gore, backgrounds and looks wonderful if you can find 720P copies.Make no mistake...this is aplha-male chest beating at it's finest

I can't remember....the 2 seasons are short tho.I seem to remember getting 180 mb mkv's that were pretty good quality.Each ep is one hour as I recall.

The new mini series is great, Gods of the Arena.They ramped up the fighting and gore.It's done in the '300' style.

What "first two seasons" ? I thought there was only one season before this one: Spartacus - Bloond & Sand. Loved it. Love this new Gods of the Arena aswell. 300 style FTW! And the language and alpha-male action is such a guilty pleasure.

Just finished the last episode of Gods of the Arena, there were only 6 in the mini-series.

It was excellent, you could really see the evolution of the show from the first season
