Ok now I'm QUITE PISSED !!! My follower just vanished (Not dead...just POOF! gone!) Had a full Deadric Armor/sheild/sword (Legendary) on it...gone...

I noticed near the end of my last game that my follower seemed to gain a mind of his own Flat out stopped following me in places and I had to go back and persuade him to carry on....almost right at the same time as that last patch came out.Maybe they threw in some AI instruction to give them free will?

Now I let them carry some stuff, but nothing important like the armor you mentioned.....did you go back to all of the scenes of your battles? I found one of my guys as a pile of dust after a huge battle near the mage's college

I was in Blackreach when it happened...its a QUITE big place to search for dead bodies (I'll just make another...and get another follower )

I'm an archer so I shoot at anything that moves.....they have a stat - bunnies slaughtered

so I look for bunnies, foxes and deer primarily

oh and fish, nothing like shooting a fish

When I'm hunting in Skyrim: If it moves, it dies!

I love starting a new guy.I have Faendal and we see a Frost troll.I run up there guns blazing and the troll cuts me down in two decisive shots Faendal runs way screaming like a 13 yr old girl..

In Skyrim they give you followers that fight in every fight if you want, and they carry around tons of shit too Not sure if you've played but if you've done Fallout or Oblivion, Skyrim is similar.

I just quit a level 38 dude and Steam tells me I'm 62% through the game for achievements It's massive and ever changing.

Yeah I had followers too. Only one was allowed, but a bug allowed me to have two....and when one of them was carrying precious stuff he vanished permanently from the game....

My favorite was Rex cause he was one of the few that wouldn't get knocked out in 2 seconds.

I already gave up from Skyrim after playing for +20 hours and die everytime more than one enemy appeared!!

There are console commands (at least there were for Fallout) to recover your followers...but I never bothered.

I think the latest Skyrim patch did something to the followers....I have to keep going back to get Faendal, as if he gets really interested in something else and wanders away at times..
