    Your first Post-Lottery Car

What would the very first car you'd need for yourself after winning the lotto be? The one you drive to work and say 'fuck you' to your boss on, or take to the airport as you leave on a dream vacation!?! Will it be sporty and wild, rare and beautiful or big and mean?

This isn't for your running list of dream cars - just the first car you would run out and buy, (or lease for the always-frugal) should you win $150 million in the lotto next week, for whatever reason!!

    --------------------------------

If money was no issue, there would be more impressive cars I'd have to have, but this is one I've just always had my eye on and wouldn't think twice about running to the dealership and picking up.

I've loved it for years, and it has a special place in my heart because it is what the Canadian Forces drive in Afghanistan as their armored vehicle. It's all-terrain and luxury. I think Brad and Angelina drive them. These things give me a massive hard-on I just fuggin' love'em so much

Ladies and Gentlemen - The Mercedes Benz G-Class G-55 AMG starting at $115,000

Technically I wouldn't run out to buy a car if I won the lottery. I'd have different plans for the money, but for the sake of the thread... I'd buy a brand spankin' new Ford Mustang GT.

Very nice choice. That's a sexy car.

I did say 150$ million though ! Whether you plan to pilot a rocket-ship, buy a business, real estate, invest it all brilliantly (or in a a treasure chest for that matter), give most of it away to friends or charity... how long would you wait before buying a new ride to do all the new chores?

Honestly? I'd take the responsible route, pay off my current car, make sure it's in fabulous working order, then drive it into the ground until it could no longer be resurrected. It's a 2006, so it probably has a good 5 or 6 years left in it, possibly longer... unless there's a massive shift in automotive fueling technology. So, I'd wait until my current car died or was obsolete.

And just so you know... yeah, I'd do some brilliant investing.

Seeing as how I need a new truck in another year or so, I'd go buy a 3/4 Ford Crew 4x4 King Ranch. Not sure if it qualifies here, but the first vehicle I'd actually buy would be a boat, nothing too fancy, just a 20-22ft fish/ski combo.

Nice idea for a thread GF

First car I would go out and buy would be a Ford GT

Ford only made them for 2 years (2005 and 2006) and from a quick glance at pricing, be prepared to drop a minimum of $140K on one....if you can find one.

Such plans I'd have...a car would be probably #3 on the list...#1 I'd see to it that my immediate relatives were debt free (and me too of course). #2, buy some real estate and build my dream "Lair".

My lair (rich people have mansions, poor people have houses, ultra-rich people with hidden houses have "lairs" ) would look like a fairly ordinary big house, custom made to my specifications of course, but with a campground on the grounds by a lake so I could have family reunions, and a race track where I could exercise my "stable" of cars whenever I liked.

Underground, below the house, hidden from view I would have a multi-car garage with cars I'd bought at a whim, researched to death and everywhere in between! There would be more than just one car for certain.

A Ford GT would have to be in there...a friend said it was an absolute blast to drive...he's in the high-end car biz (before the economy collapsed, he was selling these things as well as Hummers etc) and I'd probably have him on retainer to let me know of interesting cars that come his way.

I'd want a Bugatti Veyron simply because I want to be in a car that can go over 400mph. I'd probably chicken out doing it myself, but wow...

I would probably make a sideline of buying and selling vehicles, and would probably have to have a staff of people to restore, tune and maintain them. So, 150mil would go quickly. I wouldn't buy a car just to look at it - it would have to be driveable.

But, I'd have mundane vehicles, like a tow truck...I'd hate to be in my ultra expensive *fill in the blank* and have to rely on a towing company...I'd have my staff come get me!

#4 would be musical instruments and a fully fledged recording studio, but that's for another thread. I have too many damn interests!

I think you mean 400kph Noilly. Veyron is a great car but I don't know if I would make it my first. I shall have to get back to y'all on that one.

And you'd probably want the Veyron SS.

I would probably get myself an Ascari A10. Wickedly fast and the most furious sound you will ever hear coming from a car.

    heres mine

    the audi quattro s1 sport

The Audi Sport Quattro S1 was introduced at the end of 1985 as an update to the Audi Sport Quattro. The car featured a inline 5-cylinder engine that displaced 2,110 cc (128.8 cu in) and produced an officially quoted figure of 350 kW (480 PS; 470 bhp).[1] However, the turbocharger utilised a recirculating air system, with the aim of keeping the turbo spinning at high rpm, when the driver closed the throttle, either to back off during cornering, or on gearshifts. This allowed the engine to resume full power immediately after the resumption of full throttle, reducing turbo lag. The actual power figure was in excess of 500 bhp (373 kW; 507 PS) at 8000 rpm.[1]
In addition to the improved power output, an aggressive aerodynamic kit was added that featured very distinctive wings and spoilers to the front and rear of the car to increase downforce. The weight was lightened to just 1,090 kg (2,403 lb), and now accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.1 seconds.[1] Some of the cars were supplied with a "power-shift gearbox", which is said to be a forerunner of today's Direct-Shift Gearbox (DSG) technology.[1]
The S1 proved to be an immediate success in the rally circuit, helping Walter Röhrl[1] and Christian Geistdörfer win the 1985 San Remo Rally. A modified version of the S1, was also driven by Michèle Mouton.[1] The S1 evolution would become the final Group B car produced by Audi, with the works team withdrawing from the Championship following the 1986 rally in Portugal.[1]
Twenty years after the cancellation of Group B, the Sport Quattro S1 is still widely regarded as the most powerful rally car ever fielded in international competition, with the final factory machines of 1986 rated at an incredible 441 kW (600 PS; 591 bhp).[1] In addition to Group B competition, the S1 won the 1985 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with Michèle Mouton in the driving seat, setting a world record time in the process. This victory was repeated in 1987, this time at the hands of Walter Röhrl.
