Movies The Hunger Games - Official Trailer

So is this gonna be crap like Twilight or is it gonna be something actually watchable?

I'm curious to see how they adapted the book. At least the cast looks promising, so there's hope.

So this isn't gonna be aimed at tweens and whatnot and will be worth watching?

No idea, really. At least the books weren't exactly light reading, they're pretty grim all in all. The director for the movie has a good track record so far, but the fact that it's planned as a three movie franchise from the get go would suggest strong commercial orientation... at any rate i'll either hire a babysitter if they'll show the original version in theatres over here or watch it on the DLC.

That pretty much answers my question right there...the books weren't meant for tweens/teens like the Stephanie Meyer Twilight crap then.

The trailer looks good, so I think I am interested in seeing this.

No, but knowing that they aren't light reading and that they are grim in nature (no love story stuff like Twicrap) then I think it will be safe to watch

maybe you should read the first book first because the movie is bound to omit stuff so it won't get too long.

I just finished the book a couple of weeks ago but haven't seen the movie yet. The book was very good, so I am looking forward to seeing the film when it's 'available'
