    Question Tap-to-Pay versus Card Skimmers

If you use tap to pay, whether with your phone or your physical card instead of inserting the chip, and that POS system has a card skimmer installed, can the skimmer still grab your card info or are you safe because you paid using the NFC method instead?

I think you are safe from the skimmer, since its reading the magnetic strip

Tap to pay creates an individual code for each transaction, so it's actually safer than inserting and using your chip from my understanding. The card and terminal are communicating just for that transaction, and visa and mastercard have a zero liability policy for the consumer which is even better. It also has a lower transaction limit than if you insert your chip and someone rips off your pin with a card skimmer.

I tap for everything, preferably with my phone!

I have all my cards loaded into my Google wallet and try and use my phone to tap mostly, but sometimes I'll use the physical card to tap.
