I worked out the other day that I spend about $2000 a year just to get back and forth to work

And who keeps voting the politicians in that keep your fuel tax so high?

I know...I see it yearly when I go to my yearly family reunion near Kamloops. In my old van it'd take about 1 tank full of gas to go there and another to go back. Our new one does it in about the same amount of fuel (uses 3/4 of a tank, but the tank is larger) I tow a tent trailer so that's why it costs so much. The cost has doubled in the 7 years I've been going.

My brother lives in Victoria... gas is 20 cents/L cheaper there

It's not just you guys up there. Where I buy fuel in my town is generally the cheapest, but the same store brand, 20 miles down the road is always 5-10cents/gallon more.
