Love It or Hate It: First photo of new Wonder Woman costume revealed

The first image of actress Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman in David E. Kelley’s remake of the series has been revealed.

Warner Bros TV released the image from the NBC pilot, which shows Palicki covered up more than Lynda Carter’s costume from the 1970s. Palicki wears a full pant, which appears to be made of latex, under a red corset top. Other changes include the removal of the white stars from the costume, and a pair of blue boots as opposed to the original red and white stripes.

Kelley, who is the brains behind television hits like “Boston Legal” and “Ally McBeal,” penned the pilot and executive produced it as well.

According to a report from TVLine.com, Kelley’s Wonder Woman has two alter egos to hide her Amazonian crime-fighting identity. The first is Diana Themyscira, a billionaire corporate CEO and the second is Themyscira’s assistant, “plain Jane” Diana Prince.

Elizabeth Hurley will guest-star on the pilot, playing the villainess role. Also included on the cast are Cary Elwes, Tracie Thoms and Pedro Pascal.

I know obesity has become a huge problem in the states but I didn't realise the criminals would be bloody larger too. Even her rope/lasso has had to be made bigger.

I wonder if Warner Brothers has a clue about peoples' reaction to this?

As a comic book collector, I frequent several related sites...some hardcore fanboy places, and some more general. I would honestly say that 99% of the comments I've seen posted everywhere have been vastly negative. Not only regarding this disco outfit of a costume, but the actress chosen for the role. I don't think a series like this can survive without solid support (and thus viewer) from the fanboy community. I'd be shocked if it lasted a whole season.

I hope Joss Whedon is doing the wicked evil grin about now. He had a kick-ass big screen movie just about ready to go, and as usual, Warner Brothers pulled the plug, because they haven't a clue about how to properly adapt comic book characters to film. They had huge success with Christopher Nolan's Batman reboot, because the studio gave him strong creative control. You'd think they would have figured out that movies cannot be made from boardrooms. They need visionary writers and directors to bring them to life. I'm hoping they leave Zack Snyder alone for his Superman reboot.

The first thing i thought when i saw this is that you were joking, then i looked it up and its true, but that costume looks ridiculous in my opinion.

upon further examination, I have concluded this is not actually Jessica Altman (Lynda's daughter)

a Google search for Jessica does indeed show this image labeled as her, but a good friend of mine pointed out that said lady is actually former soap oprea actress Ashley Lyn Cafagna-Tesoro. A quick search of her pics easily confirmed this. I guess nobody ever reeally noticed how similar Lynda Carter and Ashley look.
