Justified (Spoilers possible)

In the Leonard short story, Boyd dies in the end. I really liked the way they handled the finale. Raylan being with his family but not living with Winona, Ava getting away, Raylan not shooting Boyd, Markham getting a befitting ending, the shootout with Boon, Wynn likely helping Ava and getting away (the pet van was an incredible idea for dogs sniffing at checkpoints...)

I watched the Boon/Raylan shootout a couple of times. Those bastards show a pretty good spray of red coming out of Raylan's head during the long side shot showing both guys.

Loved the pacing of the episode. Everything seemed to happen in 15 minutes, then it was a slow glide to the end


and of course that last scene was great:

We dug coal together..

I do like one aspect of the end though.

Another subtle part was when Art told Raylan he got Boyd the 'right' way

Was reading that the showrunner says they left the finale open ended just in case they want to revisit it later

They could pull a 24 and come back several years later if they feel the storyline they come up with is good enough.

The showrunner (Yost?) said it would depend on what everyone was doing at the time, referring to the actors. Sounds like they want to revisit it.

I like they way they handled the finale. It could have been a blood n guts bath for everyone, and that type of ending was expected by critics and the fans... and they went a different way.

To get deep about it, I agree with one critic who said that Raylan matured. In the pilot he shot a guy who deserved it and by the finale he really thought that he and Boyd would have to try to kill each other. Instead, even after tempting Boyd with the gun, he exercised discretion and let him live.

I believe Ava had already contacted him and her two passports she got from Limehouse may have been for her and Wynn.

Easily one of my top 10 favorite shows of all time, I'm going to miss it....it ended way too soon.

I do have to say that I really enjoyed the episode and I think they did the series justice in the way it ended. They really did get me in the standoff between Raylan and Boone, I thought Raylan was dead, especially with all that blood splatter shown before they show the bullet had just grazed his head.

Yeah most tv endings are crap, I liked this one. I will miss this show for sure
