Got my ballot in the mail yesterday and I couldn't believe how many choices there were for President this time around. I can't ever remember there being SIXTEEN choices before (17 if you count the Write-In option).

Is it that way in other states or it is just easy to get on the ballot in CO?

I think you have to actively qualify in each individual state to get on that state's ballot. I don't think it's that difficult to do.

As far as I can see, there are only 6 nationwide qualifiers, including Obama and Romney. I haven't delved too deeply into this but the rest listed on Lance's ballot may have only qualified in Colorado and in a neighboring state or two. According to what I've found these are the nationwide candidates:

Democrat - Obama
Republican - Romney
Libertarian - Gary Johnson
Green - Jill Stein
Constitution - Virgil Goode
Justice - Rocky Anderson
