I think you can remove that from the browser bar by right clicking on it if you don't want it there.

The initial process is a little confusing and that's a hook. Almost to the point where it could stop other people from using the extension.Because I don't use it
After install you go into your FF options/extensions and it's sitting there listed. But no icon at the top of the browser and no functionality anywhere.

Oh great. Now at my notifications it's saying things like " 2 new post quotes ". I only see things there when people pm me.
I didn't change any forum settings here...wtf???

So to understand this..anyone else can put your name into that tagging system and then you start getting all of these notifications based on their choice?

You'll get one single notification if someone tags you in a post. I've just tweaked the settings as it was pinging notification when someone quoted your post - that's now fixed. It's exactly the same as how all social media works, you can tag people on facebook, twitter etc to show them things they might be interested in etc.
