Paris Hilton was the victim when thieves broke into her house and stole $2 million worth of clothes, jewelry and other celebtastic goodies.
But maybe she wasn't the only victim...
Hilton is being sued in New York by a Munich-based insurance company which claims that Italian jeweler Damiani loaned the heiress more than $60,000 worth of finery in 2007—and she just kept it!
True, the lawsuit admits, the baubles were part of a haul of luxury items that were allegedly stolen from Hilton's L.A. home by the so-called Hollywood Bling Ring in December 2008. But, the complaint continues, police eventually located the items and Hilton got it all back the following year.
After which, she kept it and ignored requests to return it, according to plaintiff Allianz Global. To which Hilton's camp cries, "Foul!"
"We only just received the complaint but it is clear that it is not based on fact," a rep for Hilton tells E! News. "Among other things, nobody from the Hilton team ever told the insurance company that the Damiani items that were stolen were returned. We are not aware of any of the Damiani items being recovered by the police, only costume jewelry was recovered."
Almost a year after the break-in, when the accused culprits were first being rounded up and charged with creeping into young Hollywood's homes, Hilton told E! News, "They're a bunch of dirty rotten thieves."
And maybe they're scoundrels to boot, but for now, Hilton's got herself another lawsuit to fight.
