4 months younger than Jack was when he won his first! Crazy eh. Good for him.

He has a funny strut eh. Walks with some confidence.

It's great for the game of golf if he can keep it up. It's obvious Tiger won't be around that much longer (I think it's safe to say that Jack's Major Title record is safe for now) and golf needs someone to replace him.

Rory looks like he may be up to the challenge

Rory seems to have an affinity with Tiger too Disturbing him during his practice rutine for while the other golfers watched from afar, calling him out on TV twice, saying his 'aura' is gone.

And Rory is actually friendly and engaging from what I have read. Yep. Think golf might have a new superstar.

At least I hope so. I'm all for underdog stories, but when randoms/nobodies/lesser-knowns win the Majors it's not good for ratings and the PGA in a strange way.

I'd like to see Tiger back, fully fit and back to his best. I think the other players have improved a lot over the last few years (Westwood, Donald, Kaymer, Rory etc) so it would be good to see a 100% Tiger going up against them all

I don't think you'll ever see Tiger like he used to be. And I can almost guarantee that he'll never break Jack's Majors record now

I dunno........ i think his lack of form the last few years has been down to his fitness (or lack of) and private life, if he sorts both of those out i think he can be on top again - class is permanent, form is temporary

I think you're likely to be right... but Jack's last four that Tiger still needs to tie came for him between the ages 38-46. Tiger is only 35 now. If he gets strong in his mind and body there's a chance.

On the other hand... he has given guys like Rory and Day a lot of room to be confident. The field is pretty strong right now.

Hopefully he takes the rest of the year off, gets great coaching, heals up and comes back strong. I'd love a Rory-Tiger rivalry to last a few years

Tiger Woods to Make 'Special Announcement' Monday
    NewsCore

LOS ANGELES – Fourteen-time major champion Tiger Woods is set to make a "special announcement" Monday on the Golf Channel, but details on what he would be addressing were a mystery.

The 35-year-old announced last week that he was pulling out of this week's British Open as he continues to recover from knee and Achilles injuries, and the unknown nature of this latest address sparked speculation across the web that he would be taking an extended break from the game.

There was even some suggestion that he may retire, although Woods only said last week, "I think my best years are still ahead of me and I'm very confident and optimistic about the future."

Woods has been out of action since the middle of May after pulling out of the Players Championship with a mild medial collateral ligament sprain to his left knee and a mild strain to his left Achilles tendon, suffered while hitting a shot from under a tree at the Masters in April.

The three-time British Open champion said last week that he would be more careful and take his time in coming back this year so as to fully get over his injuries.

Woods has not won a major since the 2008 U.S. Open and remains winless overall since late 2009, shortly before it emerged that he had multiple affairs, ultimately ending his marriage with Swedish model Elin Nordegren.

The announcement will take place Monday at 11:00am ET, when he will sit down with the Golf Channel's Kelly Tilghman.
