Is Carly Rae Jepsen ready to fill Cinderella's glass slippers on Broadway? Sarah Hyland isn't so sure. Shortly after news broke on Dec. 29 that the "Call Me Maybe" singer was going to play the title role in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, Hyland took to Twitter to voice her concerns over the casting.

"Today's a meltdown day. Carly Rae Jepsen is going to be Cinderella??? On Broadway??? NOT OK WITH THIS," the Modern Family star wrote. "Tell me it's gonna be OK @LauraOsnes."

(Osnes is the current star of the Broadway musical. Jepsen is set to replace her for 12 weeks beginning Feb. 4.)

"Hoping she will be amazing," Hyland added of the Canadian pop star. "I'm hesitant though..."

The actress then clarified, however, that she had nothing against Jepsen or her music. "To avoid anyone assuming things? My previous tweets do not mean that I'm not a Carly Rae Jepsen fan," she explained. "The end."

Jepsen, for her part, has said she grew up wanting to perform on the Great White Way. "Broadway has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl, and I look forward to working with this incredibly talented cast to tell this classic tale," she said in a news release about the show.
