Don't get me wrong, I'm not against killing asshats that deserve it, but do so within the law.

A castle doctrine is exactly that, Castle. Meaning home, car, work. Outside of those, you legally do not have the right to chase down a burglar, thief, etc, and shoot them. That is just vigilante justice, and leads to one dead bad guy, and the "good" guy going to prison.

I wasn't trying to argue or anything and I hope I didn't come off that way.

I just don't want ya'll thinking you can shoot someone, even in self defence, and have no repercussions.

It's generally a very long drawn out process that can be very expensive, even if you're found innocent.

Check out the NRA website, they actually sell insurance for this very purpose.
