It's required everywhere to have a sufficient backstop so there aren't stray bullets flying everywhere. It's also one of the reasons why hunters often shoot down from the trees or make sure they pick a spot where it's safe behind the kill zone.

Possibly that one, the rest are definitely just how fast he is.

I agree with Pony, I think what you are close to is a shooting range which would account for the different sound levels and timing you hear.
Definitely not a shooting range. Just farms. It doesn't happen often enough to get anyone bothered here ( except me)

Re that video. You guys sure love your guns!

But yes, back to the original question, probably just a light semi-auto and fast fingers. That bump-stock at 1:12 was much faster that what I was hearing. I am used to, shall we say a different pace of bullet delivery in Aus - rather than something akin to WW3 breaking out

In a lot of places in the South and Midwest, it's perfectly legal and acceptable to set up a private shooting range on one's own property (just shooting targets in your backyard), provided you're far out enough in the sticks to not be near anything like schools or business areas to cause a panic, your neighbors aren't very close, and you have enough land to facilitate such a thing. I know a bunch of people in my county that do that and sometimes off-duty police join them.

Yep, I'll shoot on my Aunts property (always safely with a good backstop) and a couple places on the island in the off season.

I shoot in the backyard...well, tbh, pellets and BBs. Rarely, I'll bring out a pistol with rat shot to kill a snake, mostly I just use a shovel. My place is 3 acres, but still too small to safely shoot otherwise.

My aunts is the mountains so it's easy to find a hill to shoot into. On the island there's one family that made a large dirt and hay bale backstop that they use for the "turkey" shoot every fall and also a friends property has a former rock quarry, now pond that we set up targets on the far bank and can shoot down into.

I build my own Ar's and safely shoot them off my deck.
