I've seen that before. Probably a local Democrat branch meeting.

But as the argument goes, they have to have the power to be racist. Do they just dislike "niggers" or do they have the power to actually oppress? I can hate on a lot of people, but I have no capacity to actually impact their lives. If you work with racist people, they best keep that to themselves at work. It won't be the black dude walked to the gate.

It's mostly older non work related people I'm referring too.. I doubt they can really affect anyone's life negatively, but I still find their throwing all black people into the "nigger" category, revolting.. I can't do that shit, man.. When I talk to people I look them in the eyes.. And most of these "niggers" they are referring too are just like me... Trying to make their way through life at their own pace, driven by their own objectives.. They don't deserve to be talked about like that..

I agree. I also realize that we [old white dudes] are the face of all that is wrong with society to a LOT of people, not just minorities. But only what white males say privately is "revolting". Interesting, eh?
The idea that racism is no longer a major issue has merit in the details. The perpetuation of the racist trope is likely a larger societal problem than actual racism.
