I firmly believe the worst of the divide started with Obama. Not necessarily his policies (they were bad enough) but the facts that he was Islamic, had never held a job etc. His absolutely atrocious record in Chicago, and the right started getting pissed off, while the left thought he was a deity. Good or bad opinions aside, the man was and still is very polarizing. Now we have somewhat the opposite in Trump. The right adores him, and the left have literally lost their collective minds. Huge difference is that Trump, like him or not, has been a very successful businessman and knows how to not only get things done, but to delegate what he cant. I believe he honestly had know idea how bad the corruption in DC is (corruption, Elitism, NWO, globalism, calling what you like)

I don't believe the majority is in any disharmony at all. The majority is watching the fringe go wild with the support of the government and getting nervous.

Thanks. I think the fact that Obama was Muslim is conspiracy theory material still. I agree that he was not as competent a leader as he was narrator. I do believe the government that he ran was better functioning though.

Agreed, but he did attend Muslim school, so it was part of his upbringing and likely influenced his foreign policy belief that we could "befriend" to limit radical jihad - a horrible miscalculation.

Depends on your definition of functioning and what you think the role of government should be. In the absence of TDS, the Russia witch trials, and Trumps Twitter bloviating... the overall effectiveness and positive economic impacts could be viewed as improved.
