This is where I disagree with most people. Is it a matter of form over function, or function over form? People seem to think that appearances matter. The ship could be going down in flames, but as long as the captain isn't sweating it, everything's ok. But god forbid if they had a captain that didn't look or act respectable, yet could save every single life on that sinking ship, or better yet, avoid the catastrophe that would sink that ship, and they'd still complain.
Context be damned. Appearances do not matter. It doesn't matter if a president is articulate or not. It doesn't matter how wide their vocabulary is. That's an incredibly minor detail that has little to no consequence on anything at all. What matters are the results of the policy, and that is all that matters. I don't give a shit how Obama spoke. He was a shit president with moronic policies. We've said this a thousand times before and you keep refusing to listen: We knew what we were getting when we elected Trump. He was no angel. We knew that. He wasn't a slick politician, and that's why we elected him. There were no surprises. We knew he wasn't the picture of pure perfection, we saw what voting for the picture of pure perfection got us dozens of times before. Perfect politicians made promises, and they broke their promises. Always. Trump went in and largely kept his word, or at the very least, he tried to. He broke the political machine and that's what we wanted.
If you keep voting for the people that smile in your face and then stab you in the back, and do the exact opposite of what they promised that got you to vote for them in the first place, then what does that say about you?
