I want a dog
I wanted to be a Monk, but I never got the chants.
You have a small place, don't you? If you are at all active (go for walks, trips to parks, etc) a Jack Russel terrier would make a great small dog. Usually around 15lbs iirc, and you can get one in various colorations. Typically a bit hyper when pups, but very, very loyal and loving. very smart dogs. If I were to get a small dog, it would be a Jack Russel.
Same here but the Mrs. won't let me! funnily enough, she said she think about it today and "wouldn't it be good for our daughter".
I,be wanted a dog since I was born practically. Had a German shepherd / Doberman cross for 4 months when I was 12 but then we were evicted! House was sold out from underneath us. I found then and there that I would get a dog I would never rent if I could help it.
i will post pics of our Guinea pig maybe tomorrow when time permits. This damned iPad is not conducive to fast typing! How the f did "really"get up there!

Honest absolute true story.
When my wife and I were living together (before we got married) we were talking about getting a dog. we agreed to get one, so as a surprise, I went to the pound and adopted one (an Australian Shepherd/ Border collie mix) brought him home, and spent the day bonding with him. Wife was working that day, and I was off. Anyway, I fell asleep on the couch. She got home as usual at the time around 10pm. When she unlocked the door and walked in, the dog (Hank) went apeshit, and was barking, growling at her. She ran back out the front door and slammed it shut. About that time, I woke up. Yes, I slept on the couch for a few nights, lol. Good boy that he was though, about a week or two later, the wife was sick, laid up in bed. Hank made his puppy eyes and whimpered at her until she petted him..

I've got cottonmouths down here where I'm at. Here's a link that shows all the venomous snakes that occur naturally in my area.

There's tons more nonvenomous snakes around here.
Sometimes I wish I had a dog, but considering that just about every single person in my neighborhood has a dog and they somehow always find their way onto my property, I guess I'm good without one for now. My sister has two, so whenever I'm missing having a pet, I run down to where she's at and play with her dogs for a few hours. It's kinda like spoiling my nephews then sending them home to my brother.
Your dogs are beautiful, Kev. I love Labs. Greatest dogs ever. My sister has a Lab/Rottweiler mix. Looks more like a Rott but acts more like a Lab. A very sweet dog. Then she has a whippet mix. That dog is insane. So much energy in that breed.
Your dog is beautiful too, Dee. Pretty eyes. I've never met one, but Spanish Water Dogs are supposed to be a really fun breed.
