my take - he existed. but not in the way most people think he existed. he was born normally and made the achievement by 7, 8 years old - when the sexual organs start to kick in, if a child is prepared, bam - that is the easiest way to get that enlightenment. the sexual force is never defiled or abused, all bodily systems top off appropriately, after which the energy systems fill, and then consciousness-spirit "fills" and the coefficient of friction is breached.
his childhood spent in egypt is vehemently suppressed by the church for this explicit reason, because it calls into question the premise of their entire story, that jesus was divinely born and his spiritual gift was a gift from heaven, unobtainable to the common man.
this kept spiritual achievement well out of reach of the vast majority of followers, merely by conditioning the mind as such. quantum mechanical universe, the observer is always interacting with the experiment, and if you've got a block created in your mind about something, it can have serious consequences in terms of your ability to grasp certain things.
one of my teachers, the practice he teaches produces this curious sort of energy, a component of its wavelength is that of schumann earth resonance - and I dont know how many people I came across that would get the teaching in whatever fashion, but forget about recognizing that energy signature, they had too much of a concept of SOMETHING in their heads and it very easily prevented them from perceiving this sort of energy. as in, teacher would raise the energy, and those of us that had calibrated our antennas, for lack of a better correlation, were easily able to perceive this....energy...infrasound... hell if I can describe it, it had a preposterous multiband component to it and if I let it, it'd start whipping limbs around like an overpressurized hose.

Yeah but was was his gain? He literally risked his own life spreading a message (and doing magic tricks) in a time where it wasn't safe to speak on that particular subject...
ie There was no financial/physical benefit for him and knew that eventually he'd get into trouble for expressing his view.
