Teh One Who Knocks (03-11-2015)
you do realize that, both being abrahamic, have the same God, right? God=Allah=Yaweh in their books. All predicated upon a pack of lies. But please dont blame the muslims, they started out with the jews' bastardized story to begin with.
the universe is bigger than that, kiddies
yes I'm aware of the background...kinda why I made the post
talk to a Christian there is no Allah
talk to a Muslim there is no Christian God
talk to an old Jew and Yaweh is the old name...
So why not have a huge battle to determine whose god is the true one?
they've been doing that for centuries, my bad

the similarities are unnerving...except when Allah beat and stoned to death their version of Eve for taking the apple..
I'm sorry Muslim folk!!! that didn't happen
But did the snake talk tho?
Mini SPOILER for the movie Exodus Gods and Kings....
Bale (Moses) is a non believer of any gods....he gets hit in an accident involving stones and an avalanche. He wakes up and a small child is there. The child is God.
Bale asks - who are you?
Child responds - I am.
Some shit happens and Bale never really knows if the petulant, pissy child was God or was it just a result of getting bonked on the head by rocks. I thought that was a cool way to handle it.
I assumed when I read
3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Sure, but I'm trying to explain the perception is in the eyes of the witness...
Another good part from Exodus Gods and Kings.....
the plagues are coming fast and heavy on the Egyptians. Crocodiles, dead fish, rivers turning red, millions of frogs appearing, flies and pestilence..
King Ramesses won't give into Moses' demands, which would stop the plagues. So Ramesses has a court FBD to debunk all of the strange appearances or plagues...and the guy pretty much does it
Another good way to balance the appearance of supposed miracles
So yeah...some things in the Bible are like the historians who chronicled wars. They tended to see and report the things they thought to be true.
*Charlton Heston voice*
Send all of the Hebrews down to the lake!
Chuck rocked that role
when false prophets are mentioned, most people associate the quotes with other religions and gods...
I think of politicians and people like Pat Robertson.
Matthew 7:15 - “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves."
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 - "For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds."
Psalm 55:21 - "His speech was smooth as butter, yet war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords."
