Thanksgiving is murder on turkeys, an animal-rights group says.
Morning rush-hour drivers on Interstate 4 Wednesday will see that message as they pass by Conroy Road.
The Animal Rights Foundation of Florida said it plans to hang a huge banner declaring that, "Holidays are murder on turkeys."
The group urges people to celebrate Thanksgiving by eating turkey substitutes, such as Tofurky, made from plant protein and spices.
It says 250 million turkeys are killed in the country annually — 45 million for Thanksgiving meals.
A news release group describes the birds as "protective and loving parents as well as spirited explorers who can climb trees and run 25 miles per hour."
The banner will be hung at 7:30 a.m., the group says
