last weekend a piece of British Rallying history got killed off)

early last year the MSA decided to ban space frame rally cars at the end of this season, effectively handing Mr Burtons home made monster the death penalty.
nothing on stage will sound as exciting as this thing has for the last 10 years, and nothing i've heard sounds as close to old GrpB rally cars as it did.
ohh and for comparison of how fast he was in it, on last years Wales Rally GB, running in the National B class (a sort of support class) over SS8 Radnor Forest (the one in the vid), he posted a time of 7m50.0s dead. former f1 champ Kimmi Raikkonen posted a time of 7m51.3s, that time would have put him 7th fastest on the stage in a home built car against full factory built/supported World Rally Cars driven by professional rally drivers.
he didnt finish the rally, in usual style the engine let go
Mr Burton was responsible for drawing many many spectators to a stage just to hear and see the beast for a few seconds, why the MSA banned it is beyond me and many many fans. now were left with farting Evo's and Imprezas . . . . the British rally scene just got a whole lot dumber
