I have been anti flu shot forever, they are wrong about the strain more often then they are right, so its not all that helpful

Even if they forecast the wrong dominant strain for the flu season, it still takes the edge off if you do happen to catch it. A few years back I got the flu even when I got the shot and it was pretty mild as far as the flu goes. The one time I skipped the shot and got the flu, I felt like I wanted to die.
you sound like Fauci
I haven't had the flu in so long, I dont worry about it. I dont think I have had it once as an adult
Just speaking from personal experience.

Ya I think it's worth it too. As you said, they do their best to model which strains will be prevalent and immunize for that so I think they can even give data to say whether a given year is 30 or 60% effective or whatever, kinda neat.
A few years I've skipped it out of sheer laziness but my wife always gets it, and there have been a number of times I've been sick and she never came down with even a sore throat sleeping right beside me, so I'm sold.

Well that's a relief. Seems the $10.5k UPS/battery backup system i installed yesterday smoked. Tends to happen when you're dumbass and wire the input voltage wrong. Luckily, it just popped a fuse.

Its for work. Honestly, I wouldn't mind having it for home, but, for that $$ I could buy a nice propane/gas generator. Nothing wrong with my gas gen, but changing out the fuel regularly is a pita.
I'm getting ads non stop for the different battery/solar generators out there. They are neat but to be ably to power just the bare household necessities for any more than an hour or two, you're looking at 5k minimum. For another 3K in solar panels you may stretch the time a bit, but lets be honest, if the power goes out, it's likely not going to be sunny.
IF they were much cheaper I'd seriously look into one. A decent dual fuel Inverter/generator can be had for between $500-$1000 + a few tanks of propane could last for days in an emergency. Indefinitely of you already have a propane furnace and a big tank.
Curious what brand of system you put in?
Its an Eaton ups battery backup. 9kw iirc. We use them to keep operator screens and sbc (single board computers) running when the diesel gets blackout, which is common. It prevents having to citrate traveling block heights, pressure setpoint, etc everytime they blackout.

Went out with friends tonight, caught a cab home at a very respectable 11pm... got into a cab and my wife and I realized it was covered in vomit. That was horrific. I'm never going out again
