Our federal election is right now. Part of me always wants to throw a vote at one of the wildcard 4th or 5th option parties but I can never actually bring myself to do it

Once they get home excited and full of pride about how much candy they collected, forcefully take their bag and dump it on the floor. Separate it into three piles. 50% pile for you for a tax, and two piles of 25%. One for the kid and one for other kids who didn't "earn" it.

Got a new boss at work. Really cool lady, maybe 40ish, suuuper smart but definitely knows how to have fun. We had a big work dinner last night and I had an important meeting at 8am so I was hoping to get home at a reasonable time... but you also can't call it quits before the boss.... so I was out until 3am. I'm an absolutely mess today But I think I was hanging in better than her at the office today and she seemed to really appreciate seeing a few of us hang with her until the bitter end of the night, so it was worth it.
