We've been lucky, it's been a cool month of June which is odd, but we're supposed to finally get into the mid 90's next week. Yay.

It's forecast to hit 100° on Monday. Yay! Otherwise, 90s starting today and continuing through the forecastable future.

It's been that hot already down in southeastern Colorado. It's basically desert-y down there. It's supposed to be between 96° and 100° depending on which area you're in down there. It's sparsely populated. I don't know why anyone lives in that part of the state really.

I love when you can see the rain pouring down in the distance like that. Happens in the really stormy afternoons around here quite often. Some parts of the city getting what seems like biblical amounts of rain and it stays bone dry in other areas.

About a month in using Opera for my browser and I can safely say I'll never go back to that awful thing that Firefox has morphed into. Between the extensions native available to Opera and the ones I can use at the Chrome store, I found either equal or better replacements than the ones I was using on FF (and replacements for ones that Mozilla stopped compatibility with ) and it runs so much faster and smoother. There are some drawbacks (Opera is slightly less customizable, but as I get used to where everything is, it's less of an annoyance), but as a whole, Opera has come a long way and I'm glad I switched.

That is SUPER cool, I've never seen that in person.

Geography in Grade 12 was probably the best course I took in HS. If memory serves that's Convectional rain. We never see it here, we just get orographic rain where the clouds pile up on the mountains we have just to the north of the city and dumps rain on us for weeks at a time Really neat to see that gif.

Fucking Honeywell junk...we have a WiFi enabled programmable thermostat that we got only 3 or 4 years ago. The other day it dropped the WiFi signal and we couldn't connect to it. So yesterday I decided to try and see what was wrong with it (I figured it was our network at home, we've been having issues with the WiFi). So I tried to get it to connect. Nope. Cleared out the old network info from it to try and get it to connect. Nope. Did a factory reset to try and get it to connect. Nope. It appears that the WiFi capabilities just died, it won't broadcast or receive any wireless signals.

Fucking POS...it's of course out of warranty, but it's not that old that it should have crapped out in just a few years. And at the time, it wasn't a cheap thermostat either.

Oddly enough, I have an old pair of binoculars (used to belong to my Dad) that technically, according to websites, should work well enough to spot some celestial objects in the night sky. However, I can't use them or my new telescope, because the cloud cover for the past week has been nearly 100% every day, and the forecasts for the next week doesn't look like it's going to get any better. So I can't test the theory out for myself at this current point in time.
