And dancing with privilege and glee
Im bored and wish people would get their shit together.
Yeah. Along with getting s bit of cash, lol. The American professional was s great guitar, black guard butterscotch blonde. Only thing is I did t really like the poly finish. I'd been wanting a nitro finish purple sparkle tele, and had started building my own, then fender released the 50s road worn tele in limited amounts with the purple sparkle. It's a bit more relic than I wanted, but it's the right color and the worn neck feels great. I actually like the pickups in it (tex-mex) more than the ones in the am-pro. Put the wee little bassbreaker 15 through its paces sat night. As expected, not much clean headroom, but really, really nice mid gain structure. To my ears a very Marshall sound. The high gain works well too. Will have to start going down the pedal rabbit hole soon.

That's not unheard of. Nowadays, Mexican made Fenders are on par with the US made counterparts. Same thing with Epiphones and Gibsons. CnC machines are doing all the work. If you buy the cheaper versions from the get go, with the money saved, you can replace the cheap hardware with better aftermarket parts... and still come in at a lower cost with the upgrades included. I won't buy higher-end expensive electrics. I can modify the cheaper ones and not feel the least bit guilty about it, and still come out on the other side with a damn good instrument. I did it with a cheap Ibanez. I did it with a MIM strat. I'm in the process of doing it with a few other guitars I bought used.
Sounds nuts, but I know a few players that have ditched high end acoustics for lower priced Yamahas. Some of those Yamahas sound amazing.
Technology is helping the budget guys close the quality gap. Nowadays, all you're paying for is a name.

Oh, splurge for the amp. Cheap amps still sound cheap.

I'm looking into getting a Fractal Audio Axe FX II here pretty soon myself.
