Even though the script on my glasses has changed in the last 4 years, my old pair has still been fine. I really only need them to read small print and to better focus when reading. Staring at drawings and paperwork at work all day, I definitely need them for that. So I go through, find a pair of frames I like and she goes through all the "add ons" (polycarb lens material, blue light blocking coating, anti-scratch, etc.) and even after what my insurance covers, it was still $517 for the new pair (it would have been just under $1000 without insurance). Ridiculous how much shit costs now. The biggest cost was actually the polycarb lenses, that was $475 (pre-insurance) all by itself.
