I saw my local school's calendar for 2021-2022 and I noticed that schools will be closed for April 1st, 2022 which is a Friday. It's color indicated it's closed for a holiday, but I have no idea what holiday is celebrated on April 1st (and no, April Fools' Day is not a holiday worthy of closing schools for).

I looked, it's not in the list of public state holidays. I'm thinking maybe somebody made a mistake.

You should see some of the days my.kids get off.. Diwali is one that comes to mind.. I don't mind though because they actually referred to a "Christmas" holiday.. So everybody gets their day, I have no problem with that..

Ok, I figured it out. "State holiday" used to be Confederate Memorial Day, observed on April 26th or 27th. They changed it to "State holiday" in 2015. Also Robert E Lee's birthday was observed on November 27th, but called State Holiday as well, but since it's so close to Thanksgiving, they won't put it on the calendar, they'll just consider it a part of the Thanksgiving break.
