Sometimes it feels a lifetime ago when he passed away, sometimes it feels like yesterday.
25 years here. I still tell stories about him.

Maybe 7 years ago, on Father's Day, I was sitting at the cemetery drinking a beer. An older man walked up to me and asked what i was doing. I replied "having a beer with my old man". "when did he pass?" "1993" He stared at me stunned. All he could muster was "it's nice you still visit" and he walked away. I think about that old man sometimes... maybe my sitting in the cemetery that day gave him some solace about his own mortality.
I wanted to be a Monk, but I never got the chants.

They never really leave us. We carry them with us throughout our lives. As long as we remember, in a way, that makes them live longer than they actually had.

We're having the first two decent days so far this spring. Still cold in the 40's but at least the sun is shining and little wind.

Dammit! Carvin went under. I used to have the X-100B head and slanted cabinet back in the 90s and I loved it, but it was too damned big for me and I couldn't lug it around. I wanted their combo amp. Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!

They were freakin' fantastic amplifiers. Better than Marshall, but slightly less than Mesa Boogie. I had one back in the 90s, I loved it, and my biggest regret was not getting it as a combo instead of the half stack. It was just too damned big and heavy for a guy in a wheelchair to lug around. I had to get rid of it because of that. And they were a California company. Escondido, California.

    I am so sad.

both he has a tremendous amount of woodworking equipment and has made some really great tables, boxes, etc, so it is to outfit that area.

but then he had to do the family room for his 7 year old daughter
