I mean, Christmas shopping for other adults in general is silly and my folks are impossible to shop for... but when you just click a few buttons and order it to your doors, it's just too easy. I feel like I need to go out an dick around looking for basically the same stuff, and suffer a little bit to make it feel like I actually tried.

What a fantastic show last night. Robert Cray Band put on a hell of a show, best I've seen in years.

I'm a fan of the John Clark/Jack Ryan books by Tom Clancy... they're solid vacation reading, easy but fun.

Well it finally sounds like they're making Without Remorse and Rainbow Six which IMO are two of the best.... but I hear they cast Michael B Jordan as John Clark? I'm a fan of the guy, but John Clark is an American Irish Catholic who went to Prep School, if you catch my drift. Also those two books are set probably 20+ years apart. Without Remorse is set around the Vietnam war, whereas in R6 John Clark is an older guy running the unit sometime in the late 90's. What are you doing...

You should check out the Amazon series Jack Ryan. The wife and I both liked it a lot.

I've watched the first few episodes! I still have to finish Season 1 but it's good so far. I love that they've kept a lot of the characters in it, although wish they'd do the books a bit more justice and follow some of the story lines, but it's enjoyable for sure. I have a huge soft spot for John Krasinski too because of The Office

I am building a floating cat tree. I have 2 pieces in place and materials for 7 more perches. One of the first things she learned is that from the first perch, she can turn off the living room light. Little shit.

Tagged along with my little brother to an info session on our local police today just to support him. The VDP seems like a great department, pays well, tons of opportunities and the cops in our family recommended it. It's hard to get in, about 7-9% acceptance but I really hope he goes for it.

Hell I was half tempted to throw in an application they sold it so hard

Things non-drinkers will never hear from their spouse at 5 am: "Why is the trash can in the bedroom?"

Dude. True story, this is perfect that you posted it this morning because I hopped out of bed to tell you guys a story on this very topic

So last night my wife went out with her girlfriends. They ended up at a karaoke bar, and she stumbled in the door at 2am. I made her grilled cheese and she told me over and over that she hadn't had a drink since 11pm and was totally fine (while being virtually cross eyed). She climbs into bed still singing me show tunes (happiest drunk I know) - but two minutes after putting head to pillow she runs to the bathroom and starts yakking. As she's puking the cat's scratching at the bathroom door to let him in, so I do.

Not a word of a lie, the second my wife finishes throwing up and washing, the cat starts puking not once but twice on the hardwood floor That little shit has comedic timing. I wish I had it on video.

    Almost heaven, West Virginia
    Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze

    Country roads, take me home
