looks like we might have a new drummer for the project I'm playing drums on, because a good bass player seems to be much harder to come by.

and a second recording session for bragging rights tonight. I told all those fkers we need to re record the last 5 also if they are all to sound alike. I'm just glad its the back end, no singer...it turns into an all night party when that dude shows up.

hehe....no, that project is hardcore-metal. no covers at all. trying to think of a band(s) I can compare to, but...I'm such a hermit I really dont know if there is any. more heavy than fast...its not even stuff I listen to, unless I happen to be playing along and practicing...hell I thought this band would have been dead a long time ago, but it gets treated like an old car in the garage to be taken out for a spin every so often I used to like heavy stuff back in the day, but now...its got to be something spectacularly special for me to be able to get into it.

the other project I play bass on we actually have a bit recorded, but those are basically engineering test tracks to screw with new mixing/mastering equipment. me and my buddy call that the ADD-metal one, the big guy from the ol band Payback wrote all that stuff, personally I think its a little more interesting, but minute, minute 30 songs...cmon campo...he stops where me and dave put it on a shelf and wait for the second half of the song to come out of the woodwork

with at wits end we started basement recordings in like 2005-6, never finished them because basements are just not good sounding rooms, we didnt have anywhere near the tools we have these days, band took breaks, etc...hell I think we only wrote 8 or 9 songs for that project anyway...

and idiot excuse...started out as a joke and dave and I were invited into, and once we realized how well the string section was working, it got more serious, and our drummer promptly left. and since it was a joke...our singer is not a singer in any way shape or form, he is a preposterously good drummer....but since he already drums in another band and didnt want to drum in 2 different bands...we've basically been stuck with him. we got the ol drummer from Payback to drum for us, he's finally pretty much up to speed...so now its basically we're almost starting to record and singer's going to wind up ripping everything line by line because I dont think he can even so much as finish an entire song at full strength. I feel bad saying he's just not fit for the job, he's an awesome kid, good guitarist, bassist too.

right! so we'll see how that all goes. but we're getting a lot of good engineering, mixing, mastering experience with all this new stuff we've got. I'll let yas hear some idiot excuse soon.
