You know what's nice in keeping with all of this tech talk here? I have an older 32 inch Sony, 720P. I always watched an SD signal on it and the picture was crap. I also used to move pc files (avi's, mkv's) to my Western Digital Player and then the Sony really showed what it could do with a good source. It was like watching a cam version of a movie and then an actual bluray of the same movie...
So recently I grabbed a brain and use the TV as a second pc monitor. It still amazes me how nice quality pc movie and TV files look on my TV, without the hassle of using the WD Player.
I realize I'm still in the 60's compared to the tech you guys have (actual bluray players and TV's with wifi), but it sure is nice to see a 900% improvement with little change
Did a bunch of shopping, finally went out to Microcenter with the intention of walking out with a 47" smart tv.....
..... until I saw the 55" that I think they had the wrong tag on. Retail $2300, best buy on sale= $1700 my price at microcenter $1200.
It's about $400 more than I wanted to spend but it's a new model with all the bells and whistles and I couldn't pass up the deal. I think it was supposed to be a lesser model that they tagged wrong and had to honor it for me. I'd bet it's $400 more tomorrow.
It's the LG 55lm7600 to you tech junkies, it's rated very high on all of the reviews I've seen.

55 inches of TV........whoa...
Ponys' got a big one
Watching movies on a 55 inch TV....the clitoris alone would be like 6 inches long...
ERM.....Indiana's whip would be like 3 feet long when watching Raiders
Mines a 42 inch and it's taken over the room, I cant imagine a 55 inch TV sat there
Yea, it's a monster!
It's gonna take me a while to get used to it, it's too big for the room. I might need to knock down the wall to get the couch further away.
