Nah, dunno what caused it - think it may well have been a bad sector on the SSD Couldn't be arsed with the hassle yesterday so didn't touch it - switched it on this morning and it booted up fine......... then it froze when i went onto the net! Did a checkdisk (found and fixed some errors) then a startup repair and *touch wood* it seems to rectified itself Have since done a major backup of important stuff



Nope but i have run into that one before with a flash drive plugged in, cue head scratching for 10 mins

I've always wondered that when checkdisk finds hard drive errors....if it's not hardware failure, then what caused the errors from one boot to the next?

and I've had to run startup repair and to date, it's never fixed whatever problem was occurring Good to hear you got it sorted

All the great games on this afternoon and I'm stuck having to watch New Orleans beat the ever loving shit out of Tampa and New England beat the crap out of Buffalo.

We have the Saints/Bucs game as well, but alternate is Chiefs/Chargers, and the late game is Eagles/Cowboys.

I'd rather watch the Chiefs/Chargers game. The Chargers beat some better teams this year and they'll be ousted from the playoffs if they don't win. Makes for a more exciting game. If the Saints don't win, they could miss the playoffs, but c'mon, man, it's the Bucs we're talking about. Brees has already lit them up for 320 yards and 4 TDs in the first half alone. There's no way the Bucs are gonna keep up with that.

Right now, I think the most interesting game would be the Packers-Bears game.

I've got the Cowgirls/Eagles later too. Go Eagles!!!

Just got a BSOD and now windows wont boot up at all

And for some reason it wont boot to cd drive Go into boot menu, select boot from cd but it keeps taking me straight to the startup repair/start windows normally window. Confused.com

I had a similar problem after a Windows Update...it pooched the graphics driver first, then affected the boot sector...

sorry to say but that was my only time where I had to use a Windows system image to get all of my crap back

And we're back after another windows startup repair............ methinks there's something fishy going on here CD drive is fine........ just realised the Win7 disk i burned off from my mum and dads pc isn't a bootable disk, doh! Explains why it wouldn't boot from cd

Yep! Think i'm just gonna bite the bullet and do a format/reinstall. At least i've managed to backup everything important........ just the updates and reinstalling programs that's a pain I do have a Win7 Ultimate with SP1 though so that takes away a bit of downloading

2 updates
136 updates
14 updates ( one was service pack 1 and IT WAS BRUTAL )
53 updates

then some random assorted updates, about 10 in all.

from 10am on a Saturday to 6:30 pm , I shite you not.
