Aren't those stupid expensive CFL light bulbs supposed to save money because they last so much longer than incandescent bulbs? Well, in 18 months, 2 of the three bulbs in the bathroom have burned out.

I haven't had any burn out yet. + got about a dozen from the power company for free along with a surge strip.

I have the same problem with a light fixture in my bathroom. It takes 4 bulbs and I've put in those CFLs. Both end bulbs keep burning out before their time. I talked to an electrician and he said it sounded like the fixture was wired wrong somehow. He said if it bothered me that much, that I should replace the fixture with a newer model (this one's from 1998).
