Why? I know all your American sports have to have 'overtime' or whatever just to make sure there's a winner but this is a European sport Some of the best games i've seen have finished as draws....... having extra time/penalties just for the sake of it is pointless, penalties especially i think is a shitty way to decide a game since it's purely down to luck.

the ones that get me are the 0-0 draws.... what was the point of turning up?

heh....I just view that as some lame ass egalitarian compromise so the fuggin softies can get some in time for their warm bottle of milk and a pat on the head from mum,

instead of being a hardcore MFer and grinding the battle out until the last drop of blood sweat and tears and finally no matter how long it takes or what the method, any game worth its salt should have a way to resolve the game.

even if it is a more direct method like penalty shots...I dont view those as luck at all. its in some sense a matching of wits, win some lose some, but you cant say fuck I went left and the ball went right had anything to do with luck, you either read body language wrong or guessed wrong




but I can also appreciate the "its early in the tourney, we dont need to make these poor bastards wear each other down and have less in the tank for the later games"

We have badlands up around Drumheller, Alberta here too Dee.....dinosaur fossils and mayhem abound I grew up hiking around our badlands, quite interesting

what's sad is that i am sitting in the lodge right now to get a strong signal and the "computer expert" from the campground has needed my help to troubleshoot connectivity issues for other campers
