Well, looks like it's time to find another insurance company. I got a notice in the mail along with my renewal that because of the ticket I got earlier this year (and the ONLY ticket on my record in the last 6+ years), my rate has gone up almost 50% over the last time it renewed.

I've been with fucking State Farm somewhere around 7 or 8 years and I have NEVER ONCE filed a claim all the while paying 10's of thousands in premiums. Great way to reward good customers.

Last renewal was for $630.16 for 6 months and the new renewal after the notice about my ticket is for $952.15 for 6 months, an increase of 51.1% and all of this is after being a customer for at least 7 years and never once filing a claim.

I'm surprised they can't work with you. Fuck 'em then, time to start shopping around. I'm with Western Reserve.
Not a fan at all of Geico or Progressive. If you do go to one of those two Never-EVER use their recommended shop.

I was going to look into Farmer's and American Family and maybe Allstate and Liberty Mutual?

We really don't have many issues with any of those. Make sure to ask what the policy on aftermarket parts are and if they have an OEM policy. Many of the companies are putting junk A/M parts even on brand new cars. Some use just A/M headlights, bumpers etc. some use all aftermarket sheet metal.
