How awesome is it that somebody at the Swiss central bank made sure to let George Soros know ahead of time that they were going to let the swiss franc trade freely against the euro so he could unwind his positions and not sustain massive losses.

That was bullshit, because that was poetic justice coming down the pipe, and the shit ton of money he made from fucking with the pound sterling would have been ripped right out of his hands.

Oligarchs protecting each other, and all. There were quite a few others who absolutely lost their shirts, including one hedge fund that lost almost 99% of their assets in a single day.

I've been off work for almost two months...working out about every third day....and my hamstrings are still fucked

    not below the head, no

I yanked my left hamstring a couple of years ago...audibly....while stretching

It's never recovered because I've worked and walked on cement for 27 years = tends to shorten the hamstrings

I also have large quadricep development which makes me a candidate for hamstring problems...

been to chiro, physio, even had electric acupuncture....and still can't find a decent hamstring stretch

I took my TV to my Mom's place....in the facility they have old donated TV converters from one of our ISP's in the building in case any patients get TV's in their rooms...

My Sony is the most user friendly device on the planet. Recognizes when it's hooked up to a PC or cable box or whatever instantly with no fuss. The maintenance dude just called me. I have to go show him how to do it....

probably the horribly complex TV setting of - cable connection vs digital channels input

As someone who's constantly called by people to set up technology (you work in computers, you must know how to set up my GPS/stereo/microwave/anything with DC power, right?) the best thing to do is to sit back and talk the person through it, and not do it for them. Otherwise you will be on speed-dial whenever the cable goes out, when it blinks 12:00, etc...

finally getting around to putting these schematics on the scanner....this 16 page sized one is a bitch, its going to need probably 20-24 scans to get it all, since its a year younger than I am and has been opened and closed a refolded a million times and its a bit ratty. I have never seen this schematic online, so there's going to be some other neve aficionados out there psyched about this one.

here's a cool piece of history we dug out - a 19.....oh shit, later 40s early 50s? A GE 4V color film camera. this was literally one of the first pieces of hardware that ever converted film to a video signal. this thing literally cost well over $500k back in that day.

but like big yed said, while humans have mastered the reproduction of audio technology quite some time ago (thus the reason vintage audio stuff is very expensive)...the flip side is that video is still making leaps and bounds and still has a lot of leaps and bounds to make yet, so that's why old video equipment is generally worth shit but given what this pieces is....well, this is something that's going into a museum.
