V4 is for the 4 cameras, captured old style bnc video red green blue black, something like that. the mirror setup had color filters to split out the signal into its constituent parts and the rest of the tower of stuff....is the ultra rare part because usually people just tossed the rack and kept the cameras.
but basically how this went was a projector projected onto a certain screen and there was a tube that connected to the front, calibrated for distance and such, the image comes through the mirror setup, cameras, etc. almost every show people watched from the early 60s to the early mid 70s were piped through something like this. (it was late 50s early 60s this came out, price correction quarter of a mil)
big yed kept all kinds of shit....almost enough stuff that he was relatively close to building his own fuggin tv stationlike UHF style. but eventually he wound up being the only one left trying and the projects fell apart over the years, now we have tons of old stuff like this hanging around and trying to figure out how best to use or part with it.
