HmmmIf you have reserved your copy legally, then you will have to first install Windows 10 on top of your legit Windows 7/8.1 and complete the installation. Then you can use a program like Magical Jelly Bean Key Finder to find your new Windows 10 serial. After that you can use the serial for fresh installation if you want.
From the MS site
Bollocks Fuck it, will take 2 seconds to patch/crack anyway Ill do a fresh install when i get the time!Windows 10 Upgrade Offer is valid for qualified Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 devices, including devices you already own. Some hardware/software requirements apply and feature availability may vary by device and market. Features vary by device. Devices must be connected to the internet and have Windows Update enabled. Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 Update required. Some editions are excluded: Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 8/8.1 Enterprise, and Windows RT/RT 8.1. Active Software Assurance customers in volume licensing have the benefit to upgrade to Windows 10 enterprise offerings outside of this offer. To check for compatibility and other important installation information, visit your device manufacturer’s website and the Windows 10 Specifications page.
If I wasn't changing my service provider tomorrow morning I may have tried this.
I don't have faith that any new OS will run smoothly even if there is an option to revert back. Who knows, maybe MS actually will make a smooth transition....they'll do it without me for awhile

HmmmQ. I have a laptop and own the copy of Windows 7 Ultimate that is installed on it. I need to upgrade that laptop to Windows 10. However, after the upgrade, I would like to install the Windows 7 Ultimate OS into VirtualBox along with our old Windows XP copy for demonstration purposes. Can I do that?
A. NO. Since you are using the Windows 7 Ultimate license as the base for upgrading to Windows 10 on that device the Windows 7 license is locked to that machine and is not able to be moved. What you can do is upgrade that Windows 7 Ultimate machine to Windows 10 Pro, the version it is allowed to upgrade to.
1. Win 7 Ultimate will be = Win 10 Pro
2. The win 7 key will be used as you win 10 key, so no longer good for windows 7, so you wont be able to make a VM with the old key to run win 7, you would need another win 7 license
3. We found that we cant upgrade anything (Win 7 pro) with Volume License key, so if you have one of those it looks like it currently wont upgrade
Ah................. Leave it!!!

Well... it's installed on one computer. I'm not so sure about this. I'm gonna have to play with it for a little while.
