I've gutted a version of XP that doesn't do too bad. currently running only 14 processes. Problem is the hard drive predates IDE, I don't know what it's called but it's not as simple of throwing a new one in it as this one is getting buggy.

Good news is the laptop is so heavy and bulky I can use it as a jack stand when it finally dies.

I give up , someone find me a laptop for less than £500 but i like and has good specs

pcspecialist What do you need in it? Are you a gamer? What size screen? The one i built was just over £600 with a samsung ssd, i7 processor, 8gb ram, 17" display. The good thing about them is that you can spec it the way you want it, ie save money by selecting no OS, not bothering with a gfx card if you don't game etc etc. PM me if you like
