Went and looked at a wedding venue last night after work. All inclusive kinda place where you can have the ceremony and the reception all in one place. Was actually really nice but was more than I was hoping to spend. But looking around, it's fucking expensive no matter where you try and get married and some places are insanely expensive. Plus this place is close to home. Close to actually setting the date now.

honest opinion here: just do what you and your future wife want to for a great day. these over the top things are so stupid to spend a fortune on a one day event. we had a "smaller" wedding (~100 guests), which my parents weren't thrilled about not being able to invite all of their "friends". keep it simple and don't break the bank i think.

honest opinion here: just do what you and your future wife want to for a great day. these over the top things are so stupid to spend a fortune on a one day event. we had a "smaller" wedding (~100 guests), which my parents weren't thrilled about not being able to invite all of their "friends". keep it simple and don't break the bank i think.

Even keeping it small and at one venue it's still gonna run as around $6K it looks like

That's having it on an off night and in the off season, the venue goes for almost $6K alone on a Saturday night during late spring and summer. That $6K is everything thought, the ceremony, the reception room, the food, DJ, florist, cake, photographer, one free night at a hotel and a few other things thrown in.
