Dollar Shave Club update: just swapped out blades yesterday for the first time, 2nd blade is every bit as good as the first one. Been shaving every 2 to 3 days now instead of twice a week and the shaves have been every bit as good if not better than the Gillette blades that cost 4 times as much.

Saturday the soon-to-be-step kid had a soccer game waaaaaaaaaaay on the south side of the city (about an hour's drive away). So, after the game it was getting late-ish and everyone was hungry so we looked for a place to stop and get a late lunch/early dinner. Found a really cool restaurant that was rock and roll themed, heavy on classic rock. They had classic rock playing on the feed in the restaurant the whole time it was there, it was pretty neat. Then, the intro to Guns N Roses 'Welcome to the Jungle' comes on and the just turned 12 year old step-kid stops and says her wait, this sound promising. I just look at her and say "This is Guns N Roses"An she gives me a blank stare like

They started playing the grunge/alternative hits on the Classic Rock station down here a few years ago. I think I cried a little when I found out.

GnR has been on the classic rock stations here for quite awhile, and now they are playing a lot of Metallica on the classic rock stations as well
Unfortunately kids nowadays don't listen to much real music
All she listens to (more or less) is all that emo faux metal/rock "poor me" crap that is out there now in abundance
She needs a healthy dose of Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power.

She likes some of the suggestions I try and make to her, but FFS she keeps finding more crap all the time and then she plays it for me and she's all disappointed when I tell her I don't like it and it sounds like crap
She finds half this stuff on YouTube and keeps trying to tell me that they're "famous" just because they put this crap on YT. I then explain to her that they are famous when they make it on the radio, any schlub can put stuff up on YT, that doesn't make them famous
