I got a rocket into orbit and then back to Earth on Kerbal Space Program and actually retrieved the capsule and the pilot.

No, I got a SMART warning that drive was probably going to fail in the future (it just doesn't tell you how long your drive has left). It's a Seagate thing

I will double check once I get home but I think it was Icare data recovery I used successfully on a non readable drive.

When I first turn the HDD dock on and the drive spins up, it shows up for a brief moment, but then it's gone. Doesn't show up anywhere, not even under disk management.
