got a 'resource card' to keep on me now as a supervisor from my employer today. as part of the 'non-retaliation' policy, it is "a violation of policy to retaliate in any way against an employee because he/she/zi raised allegations of sexual misconduct"

This dude I know was cleaning his car today, accidentally hit the lock button, and shut the door, locking his keys and his phone in that car. He had no way to contact anyone or get assistance, and ended up borrowing a phone from a kid working at the car wash to call roadside. The roadside took 45 minutes to get there and less than a minute to open the car. Wasted several hours on that doozy!

    Ok, it was me.

That fucking sucks I hate how newer cars are all going to that keyless ignition too... perfect recipe for locking them in the car.

My old ass's first thought was "find a payphone".

    a) there aren't any.
    b) you can't make a collect call to anything other than a traditional landline which is authorized to accept collect calls.

My dad did this once about 4km from home, cell phone and keys locked in the car. He had to ask about four places to borrow a phone, and when he finally found one he could only remember one or two phone numbers (because cell phones have killed this skill tree in life). Nobody picked up so he had to hoof it back home. He was PISSED

Walmart still has payphones on them. At least the ones here do.

My Dad left me his car, average low end 2014 Buick. It had the Onstar feature, which I canceled. Apparently Onstar can unlock your vehicle remotely anywhere in the world and also locate the car in case no one can contact the driver.

Again...you need a phone though to contact them if you`re not in the car

aaand I have to fix my keyboard the apostrophes etc grrrrrr

We haven`t had them for years. Kinda weird though, about a mile from my house at this old tiny strip mall they left the booth standing.

    I guess for Superman

Not sure what I feel like doing today Poor wife has a bad cold and is away today/overnight on her third call shift of the week, poor girl. They run these residents into the ground, with their 1 in 4 calls and flat $100 of OT pay for working 30 hours straight

That said I'm bored... maybe the boys will come over to watch hockey and drink beer.

I'm stuck inside. Took my car out for a quick tour and almost couldn't get back up the slight incline into the garage...all season tires until Nov 30...

little bit strange to be housebound

    *checks food supply*

I may have to eat my neighbor

    This is totally weird

Not many rations left in the pantry and I can't walk to the Superstore...and will not take a cab to go shopping!

I may have to go to the neighbors: Hi, can I borrow a cup of roast beef and potatoes and carrots, and a tiny bit of that apple pie?

I'll pay you back come spring

    ffs
